Entrepreneur Training

Entrepreneurs are the "backbone" of America.  With this in mind, the Acadiana Regional Development District has put together a team of professionals that offer a unique course designed to help individual entrepreneurs and small businesses, open the door to owning their own business.  After completing the 72 hour course, entrepreneurs will have a comprehensive business plan that fully evaluates the feasibility of the proposed start up or expansion.  In addition to formalizing an entrepreneur’s goals and objectives, the entrepreneur will also leave with knowledge of business planning, management, and loan processing.

The Center for Entrepreneurial Development was started in response to a community need for local ownership of business and was designed to assist those with little or no experience in running a business. Providing a comprehensive and thorough study of the techniques and steps, the program consists of three intense training models:

— Business Planning    — Management    — Loan Processing

Training is provided in a classroom setting with an established curriculum covering all aspects of business development and operation, including, but not limited to, the following topics: business taxes, marketing research, inventory control, insurance, job search, and self assessment.  In our efforts to maintain excellence, the curriculum has expanded to include financial assessment development, loan packets, specialized help (legal, accounting marketing, etc.), dealing with your credit, types of insurance in small businesses and job development.

For information about upcoming Entrepreneur Training courses being offered, please contact Donna Villemerette.
