TECHNICAL ASSISTANCE

In addition to the economic initiatives listed, ARDD provides technical assistance in a variety of ways to local units of government, area businesses and agencies.

Services include, but are not limited to:

 

GIS Mapping Services

ARDD assists units of government with the development and implementation of GIS data management, including, but not limited to, identifying and digitizing schools, parish subdivisions, public water wells, wellhead protection areas, industrial parks, fire districts, airport and waterport boundaries, landfills, land and water interfaces, and underground aquafers. Training is provided to governmental personnel responsible for maintaining GIS data.

Website Development

ARDD offers website development and maintenance services to local units of government as well as the private industry. Development and maintenance fees are applicable, however governmental agencies located in a participating parish (county) receive an additional 15% discount on development fees.

State Data Center

As a state data center affiliate, ARDD maintains a significant repository of demographic and other information about the Acadiana region and its local governmental jurisdictions. ARDD hosts events sponsored by the U.S. Bureau of the Census regarding the 2010 Decennial Census program, including the LUCA (Local Update of Census Addresses Program).
