RURAL BUSINESS ENTERPRISE
The Acadiana Regional Planning District was awarded a grant from USDA to assist rural businesses in the parishes of ...
Acadia, Evangeline, Iberia, St. Landry, St. Martin, St. Mary,
and Vermilion
... with the primary objective of improving the economic conditions of rural areas. The purpose of this project is to provide support to small and emerging private enterprises in rural communities that include technical assistance and micro-enterprise development training.
Small Business and entrepreneur services include:
- Micro-enterprise training
Rural training workforce development programs assist the underemployed and unemployed to successfully make transition to employment where a gap in existing rural services exists.
- Website development and other marketing tools for business development
Business and entrepreneurial promotion and advertising is a step in the success of the small business entrepreneur. Website promotion and advertising provides a unique ability for the rural business to promote his/her venture outside of his/her area. RBEG gives the entrepreneur a low-cost alternative to marketing. Marketing tools may include brochures, business cards, flyers, and other areas of advertising.
- Assistance with formulating a business plan
- Technical assistance
A problem solving activity (such as market research, product and/or service improvement, feasibility studies, etc), technical assistance includes but is not limited to conducting training workshops and providing guidance designed to foster business entrepreneurship.
If you are a small business in one of these parishes, or an individual interested in starting a small business, perhaps we could assist you.
